General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M)

A three-year diploma program known as General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) prepares students to work as auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs). The course provides theoretical expertise in a variety of nursing topics, including medical-surgical nursing, anatomy, and pharmacology. Clinical rotations under supervision offer practical instruction.


The curriculum places a strong emphasis on acquiring the fundamental nursing skills required to give patients, women, and children primary care. Pupils get knowledge on how to perform injections, take vital signs, help with births, and carry out rehabilitation tasks.Students who successfully complete the program can find employment as midwives or staff nurses in clinics, hospitals, and community health centers.


Graduates of GNM programs can work as public health nurses, nurse educators, or nursing administrators with some experience.

Eligibility For Addmission

1. Male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
2. Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
3. Minimum education: 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks.
10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science ‐ Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE /ICSE /SSCE /HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
4. 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
5. Registered as ANM with State Nursing Registration Council.

6. Student shall be medically fit.
7. Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science ‐ Vocational stream ONLY conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
8. Student shall be admitted once in a year.
